I stepped down because of party unity, Akuyoma tells supporters

Frontline aspirant to the Warri North House of Assembly seat, Justice O. Akuyoma, who stepped down for Orode Uduaghan Friday May 15, has told his supporters that he took the decision for the unity and progress of All Progressives Congress, APC. 

Akuyoma, who gave the explanation in the podcast sent to Fresh Angle International Sunday May 17, called on his supporters to join him in collapsing their structure into that of Orode Uduaghan, to enable the APC achieve a common goal of all - round victory in the 2027 elections.

He stated:" Thanks to my huge supporters and followers for the period of consultations to become the APC  candidate for Warri North Constituency in Delta State of Assembly.

" I appreciate the leaders of Warri North LGA for their support during the consultations.
" I appreciate the NWC for their good work. I  also appreciate the Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, Chief  Otimeyin Adams, Dr.  Tosanwumi Ideh, Dr. Godwin Ebosa, Hon. Michael Diden and  Sir  A.S Mene, for their fatherly advice and encouragement.

"Some huge efforts were made by the party chairman.

"Politics is a game of giving and taking. Let us understand that at a  point, you want to win, but if you don't win, it is not a do - or - die affair.

" Let me use this opportunity to remind my supporters that it is not easy. You could remember in 2022, I contested , but I lost, here again I was aspiring for same, but I was advised by the party to step down for Orode, who is now the sole candidate of the party

"If i disobey the leadership of the party, I have disobeyed the party. 

"Please my followers, you must understand that I stepped down for the purpose of unity, progress of the party.

" I advise my followers to please let's collapse into Orode Meyiwa Uduaghan's structure, to be able to work as one for the unity and progress of the party, so that we can achieve a common goal."
