Feelers reaching Fresh Angle International, have revealed plans by parents to stage peaceful protest at the gate of Model Technical College, Omadino, MTCO on Monday August 24.
The parents, expected to storm the school gate by 9:00 am, are angry over moves by Delta State government, to relocate the Model Technical College, Omadino in Warri South Local Government Area, to Oghareki in Ethiope West Local Government Area.
The Delta State government, had reportedly approved the conversion of Model Technical College, Omadino , to a campus of Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, directing teaching and non - teaching staff of the school, to immediately relocate to Oghareki, with the fate of students of Model Technical College, Omadino, unclear.
This flagship Niger Delta Digital Newspaper, gathered that the aggrieved parents welcome upgrade of Model Technical College, Omadino to a campus of Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, but are averse to moving the technical school from Omadino Community.
A Source privy to the planned protest, told This Newspaper today, Saturday August 22, that Omadino had no secondary school, prior to establishment of the Model Technical College in the oil - rich community.
The parents intend to appeal to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to renovate an abandoned technical school in Omadino and move students and staff of Model Technical College, Omadino to the nearby technical school, to be renovated, instead of relocating staff, equipment and students of Model Technical College, Omadino to Oghareki.
