Itsekiris in government shun inauguration of their nation’s Education Trust

On a day when the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei told a gathering of Itsekiri traditional Institution, renowned academics and a cross section of Itsekiri sons and daughters that he has to rushed down to Warri “after church service of his daughter’s marriage” to attend the inauguration of Itsekiri Education Trust, virtually all members of Itsekiri political class currently serving in government were visibly absent, Fresh Angle checks reveals.

From the member representing Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, Member representing Warri South-West at Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, Member representing Warri South Constituency I in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Omawumi Udoh to the member representing Warri North in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Irene Imilar, non was present at the ceremony and no representation or word was sent to the august gathering by the legislators who are of Itsekiri extraction.
Investigations also reveal that current commissioners, aides and other appointees of the state government who are Itsekiris equally ignored the inauguration. Only a few who are presently out of government made cameo appearance.

It was not known as at press time if invitations were sent to the affected politicians, but there are evidences that the ceremony received wide pre electronic and print publicity.

Our Senior Correspondent who covered the maiden National Association of Itsekiri Graduates quiz competition for students in secondary schools in Warri South recently also reports that there was zero presence of Itsekiri politicians at the event.
