Akumazi/Nigeria-Former Delta State Governor and APC Delta North Senatorial candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, hascalled on residents of Ika North-East Local Government Area to translate their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) into votes in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a Councillors’ Empowerment Programme in Akumazi, Okowa said the large turnout of residents reflected growing support for the APC and urged party faithful to remain committed to the party's success at the polls.
He congratulated the 400 beneficiaries of the programme, who received ?50,000 each, and encouraged them to use the support to improve their livelihoods.
Okowa also commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for appointing Mr. Charles Aniagwu as Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads and Public Information, describing the appointment as a recognition of Ika North-East's contributions to the state.
In his remarks, Aniagwu highlighted ongoing development projects in the area and called on residents to continue supporting the APC, while the party's chairman in the local government, Mr. Emeke Asiwe, assured residents that more empowerment programmes would be introduced before the end of the year.
The event also featured the formal introduction of APC candidates as the party stepped up grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
