Ebenco Global Link Limited, Koko in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, has reportedly received authorisation from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) to introduce hydrocarbons into the Ebenco Refinery, marking a significant milestone as the facility advances to commissioning.
The authorisation followed the satisfactory outcome of a Pre-Start-Up Safety Audit (PSSA) conducted by the Authority at the refinery. In a formal letter, NMDPRA confirmed that, following the satisfactory outcome of the audit, it had authorised the introduction of hydrocarbons into the refinery, subject to conditions governing the commissioning and testing process.
The development marks an important transition for the Ebenco Refinery, moving the facility from pre-start-up preparations into the hydrocarbon introduction, commissioning and performance-testing stage. Throughout this phase, the refinery will operate under the monitoring of the Authority, with the NMDPRA pre-commissioning team continuing to provide regulatory guidance as activities progress.
The latest authorisation represents another significant step in the development of the Ebenco Refinery. It also advances Ebenco's broader objective of contributing to Nigeria's domestic refining capacity through indigenous technology, local fabrication and locally driven energy infrastructure.
Ebenco, has promised to provide further updates as the refinery progresses through commissioning.
