2027: AAC Governorship Candidate Eshor vows to revive Delta Economy through blue Economy

The African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Delta State, Engr. Isaac Eshor, has declared his intention to contest and win the 2027 governorship election, promising to tackle underdevelopment, attract foreign investment and unlock the state’s economic potential.

Eshor made the declaration in Warri on Tuesday during an engagement with journalists, where he outlined his vision for transforming Delta State through the development of its blue economy, improved infrastructure and employment opportunities for youths.

The maritime professional said Delta State was richly endowed with natural and economic resources, particularly its waterways, but regretted that the potential of the blue economy had not been fully harnessed by successive administrations.

He expressed confidence that his experience in the maritime industry, spanning several decades, would enable him to develop the state’s waterways into productive economic assets capable of generating revenue and creating employment.

As a man who has been in the maritime business for decades, I understand the enormous economic opportunities in our waterways. These resources can be transformed into assets that will create jobs for our youths, attract investors and improve the living conditions of our people,” he said.

The AAC candidate also pledged to pursue foreign investment partnerships and other strategic economic collaborations to accelerate development, promising that his administration would begin taking steps to turn around the state’s economy within months of assuming office.

According to him, Delta State has the resources and economic advantages required to achieve substantial development, but deliberate policies, effective management and investment-driven initiatives are needed to translate those advantages into tangible benefits for residents.

Eshor also questioned the level of infrastructural development in the state, citing persistent concerns about road networks, electricity supply and other essential facilities.

He argued that the volume of federal allocations and other revenues accruing to Delta State should translate into more visible improvements in infrastructure, public services and economic opportunities.

The governorship hopeful maintained that his proposed development agenda would focus on creating an enabling environment for businesses, attracting local and international investors, and expanding opportunities for young people through maritime activities and other productive sectors.

He called on Deltans to carefully consider the choices before them in the 2027 governorship election, saying he was prepared to offer his services and pursue a development agenda aimed at repositioning the state.

Deltans have a choice to make ,I am ready to serve my state and work towards making Delta one of the leading economies in Africa. We have the resources, and with the right policies, partnerships and commitment, we can achieve much more,” he said.

Eshor’s proposed emphasis on the blue economy places maritime development, investment attraction and job creation at the centre of his campaign message. His proposals, if pursued, would require clearly defined policies, implementation plans and investment commitments to translate the state’s natural advantages into measurable economic gains.

As political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election gather momentum, the AAC candidate’s message adds to the emerging debate over how Delta State can improve infrastructure, diversify its economy and create sustainable employment for its growing population.
