Protesting Support Staff of Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, WRPC, have soft-pedaled, allowing skeletal activities to take place at the refinery.
Fresh Angle International, can report that the aggrieved workers took the soft stance Wednesday October 28, following reported intervention of the Executive Vice President, EVP, Downstream at NNPC Limited, Dr. Mumuni Dagazau.
Chairman of the Support Staff of Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, WRPC, Dafe Ighomitedo, had told newsmen at the entrance of WRPC, Tuesday October 27, during their continued protest, that they wanted the Executive Vice President, Downstream at NNPC Limited, Dr. Mumuni Dagazau, to address them, “because the Refinery Coordinator, RC for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited) Engr. Bayo Adenrele, is rubbishing his office and staining the image of the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bashir Bayo Ojulari.”
According to Ighomitedo, the RC told Support Staff of Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, WRPC that they were outsourced, even though they were reportedly employed directly.
One of the Support Staff, who spoke exclusively to this Flagship Niger Delta Digital Newspaper, Wednesday October 28, warned that if by Friday October 30, nothing concrete is gotten from the EVP, entrance to Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company WRPC will be barricaded, preventing entry and exit.
