The Voice of Warri Kingdom Women Initiative, VWKWI, has charged Itsekiri mothers, youths and fathers to get ready, saying no going back on liberation protest, over perceived marginalization by Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL.
President, Voice of Warri Kingdom Women Initiative, VWKWI, Mrs. Vivian Eric Mene in a video clip sent to Fresh Angle International Thursday October 29, said Itsekiris, Ilajes and Ijaws working in two rigs in Chevron Nigeria Limited’s offshore operations, are not up to 10% of the workforce.
According to her, “community slots” such as Oil Installation Manger, Marine Personnel, Chief Mechanic, Offshore Safety Adviser and Offshore Material Coordinator, OMS, are occupied by Ikwerre and Ibo indigenes.
“We have sons and daughters, that are supposed to be in these community slots, yet Chevron are denying us, even the ones they gave to the community, wasn’t the right percentage. The right amount of Itsekiris Chevron is supposed to employ, they didn’t.
“Ogere workers are not yet confirmed as staff, enough is enough, no going back on liberation protests. Itsekiri mothers, youths and fathers should get ready, our representatives have failed us” Mrs. Mene, stated.
