Two boys recently died following a fight that ensued between some youths of Igbudu and Essi layout communities in Warri over alleged stealing of an unidentified old woman’s purse.
An eyewitness, Mr. Uche Enuawa told Our Reporter that an unidentified elder from Igbudu beat up a boy from Essi layout community who he caught stealing a purse from the unidentified old woman.
The eyewitness added that later in the evening of the same day, the boy was beaten and members of his gang suspected to be cultists came to attack the elder, saying that he has no right to intrude in their affair.
Mr. Uche also alleged that both community youths are from different confraternity.
According to Enuanwa, some youths from Igbudu community heard the noise of their elder and came out to attack the invaders, two boys were shot dead and the building of the elderly man was almost burnt down during the confrontation.
Some elders and chiefs in both communities reported the issue to the police and vigilante group so as to forestall further brake down of law and order.
The elders further warned that anybody caught stealing in both communities will be burnt alive.
Incidences of theft have become rampant in Igbudu community in recent times with several women losing their jewelries, money and personal effects.
