The increasing wave of robbery attacks in Warri, commercial capital of Delta State reared its ugly head Monday December 17 when a four man robbery gang stormed some shops at 5 Akpoyan Road, Eboh by Amoforitse Street and shot sporadically into the air, before shooting a customer who came to buy goods on the leg.
Fresh Angle gathered from eye witnesses that the four man gang who operated for 20 minutes unhindered came with a Toyota Camry car.
One of the victims of the robbery incident who owns an electrical shop told Our Correspondent on condition of anonymity that he lost over seven hundred thousand naira to the robbers, even as he added that the customer who was shot on the leg was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
Another victim identified simply as Ogbolomo, who sells drinks on wholesale said he lost close to ten thousand naira.
The victim whose shop has been raided severally disclosed that but for earlier deposit of the day’s sales to the bank as a result of previous experiences he would have lost more money to the robbers.
Investigations reveal that over three cases of robbery have been reported in parts of Warri in less than four days as at the time of this report.
Fresh Angle had reported about this same time last year, December 28 precisely when a group of armed robbers raided same area in 45 minutes, killed a young lady and shot another on the waist without any resistance.
