Lokoja Local Government Chapter of All Progressive Congress, APC is enmeshed in a shameful crisis over alleged diversion of 15 bags of rice said to be Sallah gift to the 26 members of the Local Government party executive, Fresh Angle International can report.
The rice, a Sallah gift from former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Smart Adeyemi, was said to be handed over to one Mallam Muhammed Ndababo Kyapi, the Public Relations Officer, PRO of the party.
According to a source, instead of distributing the food items, it was alleged that Hon. Kyapi diverted the rice.
It was also gathered that efforts made by the leadership of party to retrieve the rice were fruitless, while the PRO could not be contacted as at press time.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the party in the area, Hon. Mayaki Abubakar confirmed the story when contacted.
He explained that Senator Smart Adeyemi sent 15 bags of rice for the 26 members of the executive.
“It is true, the bags of rice were handed over to Hon. Muhammed Ndababo Kyapi to hand it over to Alhaji Haruna Isah, the Chairman of the party”, he said.
One of the leaders of the party who spoke to Our Kogi State Correspondent on condition of anonymity opined that if the allegation against the PRO is true, the betrayer of trust is enough to stir bitterness and crisis in the party.
All efforts to speak with the local government party Chairman, Alhaji Haruna Isah met brick-wall.
