Give more political benefits to Anambrarians, Obiano urges Okowa

Anambra State Governor, Dr. Willie Obiano has enjoined his Delta State counterpart, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to give “more political benefits” to Anambra people living in Delta State, saying Anambra is one of the most culturally rich state in Nigeria.

Dr. Obiano0 made the declaration weekend in Warri, Delta State during this year’s Ogbako (gathering of Anambra people) Ndi Anambra.

The Anambra Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner, Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Barr. (Mrs.) Stella Onuora disclosed that his Senior Special Assistant  on Water Resources is from Delta State.

While assuring Anambrarians outside the State of his administration’s support, Dr. Obiano appealed to them to come and invest in the State so as to increase the pace of development.

Speaking earlier, Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on Non Indigenes’ Affair, Nze Francis Onuora averred that Ndi Anambra in Warri is totally for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, adding that they are happy with Dr. Okowa for appointing one of their own (himself) as his Aide.

He mentioned challenges of Ndi Anambra in Warri to include the acquisition of land for the construction of a permanent site for Ogbako Ndi Anambra and solicited assistance to enable the body actualize its N65 million permanent secretariat complex project.

Nze Onuora praised Governor Obiano for his developmental strides as well as the attraction of direct foreign investments into the State.

The Chairman of Ogbako Ndi Anambra Warri and Environs, Chief Peter Ezejelue commended Dr. Okowa for appointing one of their sons as SA on Non Indigenes’ Affair and equally praised Anambra State Governor, Dr. Obiano for his love and response whenever he is called upon by them.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that PDP Chieftains such as Hon. Omimi Esquire, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba and Comrade Hope George spoke at the colourful event.
