Chairman Management Committee of Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu families of Okere-Urhobo in Warri, Hon. Gabriel Eyekpimi says he’s in a good position to become the next Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area as the forthcoming Delta State Local Government poll inches closer.
Hon. Eyekpimi, a former Supervisory Councilor for Sports in Warri South Local Government Council made the declaration Wednesday August 23 in Warri during an exclusive chat with Our Senior Correspondent.
According to him, as an aspirant whose parentage cuts across Urhobo and Itsekiri, his background as well as experience will be brought to bear in the quest to consolidate on the achievements of the out-going Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema administration in Warri South Council.
He promised to block revenue leakages and sustain the environmental sanitation legacy of the Edema administration if given the mandate.
While noting that he will key into Governor Okowa’s SMART project, Hon. Eyekpimi assured that the Internally Generated Revenue mechanism of the council will be improved upon and areas such as agriculture, youth empowerment, skill acquisition, education, primary healthcare, security and infrastructural development will be given adequate attention.
He appealed to PDP leaders of Itsekiri and Urhobo extractions as well as other stakeholders to support his ambition, adding that it is time for “the Urhobo part of Warri to produce the next Warri South Council Chairman”.
