The Rotary Club of Warri in Delta State is to spend N15 million for the 2017/2018 Rotary year in continuation of the construction of physiotherapy centre at Central Hospital, Warri, Rotary Center project also in the Oil City, the donation of hearing aids to selected schools as well as the implementation of peace and conflict prevention/resolution campaign among youth groups.
This much was disclosed Saturday August 26 in Warri, Delta State by the 39th President of Rotary Club of Warri, Rotarian Chris Owumi Ojeke during his investiture.
Rotarian Ojeke, an active practitioner in corporate law, stressed that his leadership will focus and increase humanitarian service of Rotary by encouraging Rotarians as well as their friends to contribute to the Rotary foundation.
He disclosed that youth entrepreneur empowerment scheme in areas such as cinematography, fashion and design, hair dressing and make-up, welding and fabrication as well as laundry services will be embarked upon in the 2017/2018 Rotary year, with 14 youths projected to benefit.
Immediate past President of Rotary Club of Warri, Rotarian Dan Agbofode in his valedictory speech explained that despite the economic downturn in the country, his leadership was able to expend N3million for the foundational stage of the physiotherapy centre at Central Hospital Warri, contributed to PIND project at Hussey College, Warri secured strategic location for ‘Keep Warri Clean Bill Board’, teamed up with other clubs to implement anti polio programmes and implement career awareness club of select-schools in Warri.

Our Correspondents reports that the investiture which was graced by the District Governor of District 9141 of Rotary Club, Ogiemudia Ikponmwosa Osagie also featured the induction of board members, induction of new members, decoration of PHF members as well as raffle draw.
