Medical Consultants Donate Relief Materials to Flood Victims


The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, MDCAN, Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja Chapter has donated relief materials to flood victims at the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs camps in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.

 

Dr. Ogunmola Ayodeji, the State Chairman of the association, handed over the relief materials to victims in each of the IDPs camp visited in Lokoja.

While addressing the flood victims, Dr. Ayodeji says the association is carrying out the venture as a way of reaching out to the needy, advising them to stay healthy by maintaining hygienic environment to forestall outbreak of infectious diseases at the camp.

 

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that during the Medical Consultants visit at Flood Victims Estate along Ganaja Road, Flood Victim Camp, Aniebo Quarters and the IDP camp at Gadumo, all in Lokoja, relief materials comprising food items and clothing materials were donated to the flood victims.

 

At the Gadumo Camp, the materials were received by the representative of Red Cross and NEMA in the presence of Kogi State Ministry of Environment representative.

 

At each of the camps, the representatives of the flood victims expressed gratitude to the MDCAN, FMC, Lokoja chapter for the kind gesture.

 

The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Kogi State has been at the fore front of assisting victims of the flood disaster in the State.

 

Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, MDCAN, an affiliate of Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, is the umbrella body of specialist doctors.
