CP Anthony Ogbizi Michael has taken over as new Delta State Commissioner of Police, Fresh Angle International has gathered.
He took over from CP Muhammad A. Mustafa, who has been redeployed to Ebonyi State for his primary assignment.
CP Anthony Ogbizi Michael, who is an alumnus of the University of Calabar, where he obtained Bsc Degree in Political Science, hails from Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The CP, who enlisted into the Force in 1986 as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), has held various posts, which include ACP DOPs Delta State, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Special Investigation Unit FCIID Abuja, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Counter Terrorism and General Investigation EFCC.
He was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration Force Headquarters Abuja, Commissioner of Police former Special Fraud Unit, Abuja, CP Community Policing Force Headquarters Abuja, CP Special Squad Unit Abuja, CP Railway Command, CP Abia State Command and briefly CP Ebonyi State Police Command.
While taking over from the outgone CP, he promised to build on existing security mechanisms on ground towards enthroning the reign of peace and security in Delta State, just as he advised members of the public to always cooperate with the Police and other security agencies at all times.
In his handing over remarks, the outgone Commissioner of Police, CP Mustafa A. Muhammad, thanked the State Government and the people of the state for their cooperation with him and urged them to extend the same cooperation to his successor.
