Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan has threatened to relocate government projects from any community where the contractors executing such projects are being harassed and slammed with controversial levies by people of such benefiting communities
The governor handed down the threat Tuesday April 9 shortly after inspecting the level of work being executed at Ikengbuwa Primary School, Ajamimogha, Warri as part of his inspection of on-going state government projects in Warri and its environs.
Dr. Uduaghan who was flanked by some top government functionaries, including the state commissioner for works, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, his counterpart in charge of Special Infrastructure, Barr. Orezi Esievo and selected newsmen promised that the upgrading of facilities at public schools in the state will be ready for commissioning “within the next few weeks.”
He advised youths in the state to stop obstructing government projects in their communities, just as he enjoined them to cooperate with contractors handling projects in their communities.
Projects inspected by Governor Uduaghan includes Nana Model College, Igbudu Primary School, the newly built Atuwatse ll Primary School along Esisi road and on-going road project at Okumagba Avenue, all in Warri as well as Camp Clinic Limited, inside Delta Steel Company Yard in Udu local government area.
Meanwhile Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has ordered a medical doctor attached to the Warri Central Hospital, Dr. Adiki Edighi to report himself to the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Otumara for allegedly working at Bendel Clinic along MCC road, off Enerhen road, Effurun same time he was supposed to be at his duty post in Warri Central Hospital.
The doctor whose explanation did not convince the governor on what he was doing at the clinic when he was suppose to be at his duty post, drove into the private clinic with his official car with government plate number
