The lawmaker representing Ankpa I in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon.Ahmed Mohammed says he deserves a second term to enable him consolidate on the achievements he has recorded during his first term in office and promised to do better for the people of Ankpa I if he is re-elected.
Ahmed Mohammed who is seeking re-election into the Kogi State House of Assembly said his achievements since 2015 speaks volume in the State.

The elated lawmaker who has championed several projects to his people, including the provision of over 150 motorized borehole, electrification of rural areas within Ankpa axis,  provision of infrastructures for his people was speaking recently while fielding questions from journalist on the buildup to next months general election.

He said under his tenure as Ankpa 1 lawmaker,  he has sponsored students into various cadres of learning,  build schools,   rehabilitated decayed infrastructures, provide materials to aide learning,  and engineered the construction of road projects for easy transportation in rural communities.

The Ankpa lawmaker who is optimistic of the All Progressive Congress, APC victory in the forthcoming polls urged his people to be law abiding before,  during and after the election.

He maintained that the APC-led federal government under the leadership of President Buhari had performed very well especially in the area of youth empowerment programmes, Civil Service reform and infrastructural development.

The lawmaker while perusing some of his achievement while serving his people  gave an insight on his water project tagged "Water for All".


"The aim of this project is to make water accessible to about 32 communities or more in Ankpa 1 constituency. This project became necessary due to several requests by residents in some rural communities for lack of clean, portable drinking water. The project is ongoing and we are hoping to extend it to other communities. So far, with several request from other communities, it has been extended to 35 communities. About 20 is completed, and commissioned while work is also ongoing in other areas".

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that Hon.Ahmed Mohammed is known to be one of the lawmaker in the sixth assembly that has sponsored several bills and moved the highest motion in the House.

Hon. Mohammed expressed worries on the rate of propaganda orchestrated by the opposition party.

According to him,  politics of bitterness should not be welcomed in a democratic setting, adding that the APC is a party who has delivered in its campaign promise when they came into power in 2015.

Among the bills and motions facilitated by Ahmed Mohammed in his three and half stay in the hallow chamber are "A bill to for a law to make provisions for the establishment of Celuke college of health and technology, Ojiapata.

" A Bill for a law to establish Kogi state youths development commission and other matter connected there with 2017.

"A Bill for a law to ensure full integration  of people living with disability, eliminate all forms of discrimination and establish Kogi state disability commission to ensure their  inclusion into the society 2018.

"Motion calling on the state government to review the awarded Ankpa Township Road by the immediate past administration of Capt Idris Ichala Wada to be re-awarded

"Motion calling on the state government to intervene in the high rate of insecurity in the state.

"Motion calling on the state government to direct the ministry of water resources to tackle urgently the challenges of inadequate water supply in Ankpa local government area.

"Motion calling on the state government to as a matter of urgency intervene in the operations of Ankpa Zonal Hospital and to make it functional.

"Motion calling on the state government to rehabilitate, equip and ensure efficient functioning of vocational and Technical Colleges in Kogi State.

"Motion calling on the state government to begin construction of Abache-Okenyi-Ojibogo-Ejinya Efofe-Aguyaya road in Ankpa Local Government Area

"Motion: A call to "Action" to begin sensitization and immunization against Hepatitis C as it affects other states.

"Motion calling on the state government to rehabilitate Community Grammar School, Opulega-Ankpa LGA.

"Motion calling on the state government to immediately declare a state of emergency on all government public schools in Kogi State

"Matter of urgent public importance calling on the state government to come to the aid of Ankpa people over erosion menace.

"Matter of urgent public importance appealing to the Kogi State government to foot the medical bill of Mr. Suleim".

Meanwhile, an  indegene of Ankpa I identified as Mathew Ojochenemi while lauding the impact of the lawmaker in three and the half years, noted that "So far, Honorable Ahmed Mohammed has demonstrated exceptionally well as member representing Ankpa 1 at the Kogi State House of Assembly, he promised Welfarism, provision of social Amenities, efficient legislation, quality representation and youth empowerment while seeking for votes 2015, thou he was rigged out at the poll before he took a legal approached to claim his Victory from court"


Another Blessing Ajogwu   added that,  the lawmaker  has enrol over 200 youths into various entrepreneurship fields of their choice.

According to her,  "Honorable Ahmed Mohammed also flag-off an educational project tagged "Back to school education support initiative" which targets primarily, the less privileged. Pupils, students who are passionate about education, but may have challenges financially. School uniforms, writing materials, School desks and scholarships were awarded to 5 students each, from about five schools in Ankpa LGA. On the 26th July 2017.
On the 1st August 2017, he visited three schools and awarded scholarship to 5 students each, from the three schools making it a total of 15 students. 30th January 2018,  he also awarded scholarship to 25 students from five different schools in Ankpa LGA and also donated 80 classroom desks and office tables and Chairs to YMC college".
