A Peoples’ Democratic Party pressure group in Warri, PDP Okere-Urhobo Political Faithful says attempt by a“self styled group on page 12 of the Urhobo Voice Newspaper of 22ndApril 2013” to ridicule its members has failed, accusing its traducers of being political jobbers seeking “unmerited and undeserved sympathy.”
PDP Okere-Urhobo Political Faithful in a statement signed by its Chairman, Secretary and PRO, Comrade Femi Okumagba, Mr. Alex Eda and Mr. Emmanuel Eminokanju respectively queried the rationale behind accusing them of not being indigenes and stakeholders in Warri when 17 of its indigenes, including Comrade Femi Okumagba, Hon. Sunday Aguweye, Mr. Emmanuel Eminokanju, Honourables George Eburu, Paul Jessah, Stephen Dolor,Kenneth Omuohovo have held vintage positions at one time or the other in Warri South local government, while two of their own, Olorogun Bernard Okumagba and Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru were appointed Commissioner of Finance and Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Special Duties respectively by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The statement implored those complaining of marginalization “to limit their quest to protest which must not be elevated to insulting and maligning leaders of the party in the page of newspaper in other to gain cheap popularity.”
While thanking Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for appointing their own into prominent positions in the state, PDP Okere-Urhobo Political Faithful appealed to the state governor to ensure that the dualization of Okumagba Avenue / Deco road which it has embarked upon is completed in record time.
