Three Warri Local Government Areas’ All Progressives Congress Grassroots Movement, TWAPCGM has commended one of APC Campaign Deputy Directors for South- South Geopolitical Zone and Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami, former Delta State Governor and Delta South Senatorial Candidate of APC, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and one of the Campaign DGs of the party in Delta State, Dr. Alex Tosan Ideh, and former Executive Director of Projects, NDDC, Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli for confronting all odds, including the intimidating force of Delta State Government to garner over 35% of votes for President Muhammadu Buhari out of the 221, 292 votes he polled in Delta State during the February 23 polls.
President of TWAPCGM, Comrade Abraham Enegho in a statement made available to newsmen in Warri, Delta State, Wednesday February 27, described efforts of the APC chieftains “as near impossible task, considering the dominance of PDP in Delta State, volatility of the coastal communities of Warri South- West as well as Warri North Local Government Areas and the lower votes recorded by the APC in Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas in 2015 Presidential and National Assembly elections”.
The group admonished APC leaders in the three Warri Local Government Areas not to be deterred by the, “desperate antics of the ruling PDP in the state to deny Delta State APC Governorship Candidate, Chief Great Ogboru and the party’s House of Assembly candidates in Warri South, Warri South – West and Warri North Local Government Areas victory in the March 9 polls”, assuring that they will do everything within the ambit of the law to make sure APC candidates win the forthcoming election.
According to TWAPCGM, the efforts of Chief Ayirimi Emami, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Dr. Alex Ideh, Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli and other APC leaders, resulted in President Buhari polling over 43,000, 12, 807 and 6,376 votes across Itsekiri communities in Warri South-West, Warri North and Warri South Local Government Areas respectively.
President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly polled 221, 292 votes across the three Senatorial Districts in Delta State in the just concluded Presidential/National Assembly elections, a figure that can be described as massive improvement compared to the 2015 polls.
