All Progressives Congress Candidate for Warri South Constituency II in the March 9 Governorship and Houses of Assembly election, Prince Mike Owhoyovwe Okumagba has accused INEC of allegedly conniving with the opposition (PDP) to “take my victory from me”, adding that results available to him from his APC agents “show that I was winning in Okere Ward 8, Igbudu Ward 9, Okumagba 1 Ward 11, Okumagba 2 Ward 12, some parts of Pessu Ward 7 and Edjeba Ward 10 respectively”.
Prince Okumagba who made the allegation while addressing select- Journalists in Warri Saturday March 16, declared that he will head to court to reclaim his alleged stolen mandate “from the PDP candidate, who was declared winner of the election”.
According to the APC Candidate, the election was going on peaceful until some thugs “who noticed APC was leading, came to disrupt the process and snatched ballot boxes away with result sheets and other electoral materials”.
He accused INEC of allowing manual voting without use of Card Readers. "The Commission prior to the general elections issued guidelines and 2019 manuals, where INEC made Smart Card Readers compulsory in Clause 10, making it an offence for any of its staff not to use it", Okumagba asserted.
While claiming that INEC officials forcefully took collation of four wards to INEC office in Esisi Road, Warri, to “falsify figures in favour of the opposition candidate”, Prince Okumagba appreciated Delta State APC Governorship Candidate, Chief Great Ogboru for “his doggedness and for standing firm to face the election”.
