Rotary Club of Warri under District 9141 of Rotary International, has donated desks and books to Dore Numa College and Hussey College in Warri South Local Government Area as well as Urhobo College, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area and Opete Secondary School in Udu Local Government Area, all in Delta State.
Presenting the items to the schools, the 40th President of Rotary Club of Warri, Rotarian Happy Apai, explained that the essence was to provide improved learning environment, so as to enable the students excel in their academics.
Rotarian Apai, disclosed that the project was made possible as a result of the grant from Rotary International, District 9141 for 2018/2019 Rotary year.

While pointing out that District 9141 is made up of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Edo States, Rotarian Apai noted that Rotary Club was delighted to be considered for the grant amongst over 60 Rotary Clubs.
He promised to work with management of the schools, to set up Interact Clubs in order to groom younger ones on the need to serve humanity, thanking Rotary International, United States, for making the books available.
The District Governor, Rotary International, District 9141, Rotarian Adeyemi Oladokun commended Rotarian Apai for being the first Rotary Club of Warri President, to attract grant that was used to boost education in Delta South and Central Senatorial Districts.
DG Oladokun who encouraged teachers to continue to do their best in the course of their profession, advised students to take their studies seriously, just as he appealed to well-meaning individuals to support Rotary in the quest at serving humanity.
He also enjoined parents to take their babies for immunization regularly in order to eradicate polio, adding that Nigeria will soon be certified a Polio-free country.
Principal of Dore Numa College, Mr. Ejoh Eyinmisan Dimas who was represented by Mr. Onovughe Mcmillan, said the donation by Rotary Club of Warri, came at the right time and praised the Club for the kind gesture.
Principal of Hussey College, Mrs. Julie Ereku assured that they will make judicious use of the books and appealed for more educational support, noting that the school Library had been equipped with modern books by Rotary Club of Warri.
