Intense lobby by parents whose wards failed to meet the entry cut - off marks in the last National Common Entrance Examination into Federal Government owned Unity Schools across the country, may have caused the indefinite postponement of resumption for JSS 1 students, originally scheduled for today, Monday October 7.
Fresh Angle International can report that though a text message sent weekend to parents whose children and wards were successful in the entry examination did not give reason (s) for the indefinite suspension, indications emerged that pressure by some parents to make Federal Ministry of Education Officials at Abuja to grant admission to their unsuccessful children, led to the change in resumption date.
The SMS to the parents, reads:" Dear parents, please be informed that the resumption date for JSS 1, has been postponed indefinitely. New date shall be communicated to parents in due course. Thanks".
It will be recalled that student from JSS 2 to SSS 3, resumed September 16 for the new academic session, leaving the new JSS 1 intakes with three weeks behind already.
