The Kaduna State Government has proposed an unprecedented capital expenditure of 72% and 28% recurrent for the 2020 fiscal year, Fresh Angle International can report.
This much was disclosed during a budget town-hall meeting held earlier today at the Kaduna State Government House, Kawo.
The State Commissioner for Planning and Budget, Thomas Gyang, explained during the town-hall meeting: "Investments in infrastructure are critical to maintaining our competitiveness, supporting economic dynamism and promoting the well-being of our people”.
According to him, Education, Health, Public Works & Infrastructure account for more than 70% of the capital budget, while in the Health sector, investments in primary health care will continue to be central in the quest at tackling maternal and infant mortality.
The Commissioner added: “We will also fast-track the implementation of the Contributory Health Insurance Scheme”.
