The Deputy Majority Whip of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Fred O. Martins, has hinted that work would soon commence on the long abandoned Ogheye Floating Market and the Koko Township Stadium projects, in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Hon. Martins, who represents Warri North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, stated that provisions were made for the projects in the 2020 Delta State budget.
The lawmaker, who is also Chairman, House Committee on Youth and Sports, gave the assurance yesterday at the Office of the Warri North Local Government Chairman in Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, during his constituency tour.
Hon Martins who thanked the Warri North Chairman, Hon. Aduge Okorodudu and his team, “for working hard to ensure greater security in the council area”, praise the efforts of the security agencies for making themselves available when called upon to serve.
He stated: '' I am most impressed at the news of zero level in armed robbery and kidnapping in my constituency for some time now”, pleading with all stakeholders to keep up the good work.
Speaking earlier, Warri North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Aduge Okorodudu, thanked Hon. Martins for the visit and expressed joy over plans to resuscitate the abandoned Ogheye Floating Market and the Koko Township Stadium projects.
Hon. Aduge, who was glad at the “good security report”, about his administration, attributed the successes recorded to the excellent working relationship he has with security agencies, community leaders, youth leadership as well as members of his executive.
He promised to provide the enabling environment that would ensure smooth execution of the market and stadium projects, when the projects eventually take off.
