Fireworks: Anyone arrested will be prosecuted, Delta CP warns

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Adeleke Adeyinka, has stressed that the ban on the use of fireworks was still in force, warning that anyone flouting the extant laws prohibiting the use of fireworks such as “knock-out,” and “banger”, will be arrested and prosecuted according to the law.

The CP, while noting that the ban is necessary to safe-guard public safety and avoid distractions to security operatives, especially during the yuletide season, advised parents/guardians to guide their children and wards appropriately.

The Police Boss also assured Deltans of their safety at all times and called on them to continue to support the police as well as other security agencies in “their untiring efforts at providing a peaceful and secure environment for the people”.
