President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has shockingly claimed not knowing the dreaded Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, accusing journalists that moderated the media chat which held Sunday September 29 of being the ones who know the militant leader and having dealings with him.
The President, who jokingly made the statement, surprisingly declared that he does not know if Abubakar Shekau is alive or dead despite claim by Nigeria military authorities that the sect leader may have died in neighbouring Cameroun after allegedly sustaining gunshot wounds at his Borno State hideout.
Jonathan’s statement which may not be unconnected with the recent video posted on the internet by the dreaded Boko Haram leader, Shekau, claiming that he is still alive is one of several declarations made by the President on the media chat regarding the growing insecurity in the country.
The former vice president who denied knowledge of any gentleman agreement stopping him from contesting the 2015 presidential election, averred that the country’s economy is stable and not on any brink of collapse despite admitting the rising wave of crude oil theft in the Niger Delta as well as other parts of the country.
