Nigeria’sPresident, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan says his administration created one million, six hundred thousand jobs in both the public and private sectors in 2012, insisting that his administration has recorded a significant GDP growth.
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan who made the declaration at the Word of Life Bible Church in Warri, Delta State Sunday November 10 during the birthday of National President of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN and founder of Word of Life Bible Church, Pastor Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor stated that some persons did everything to frustrate the handover of PHCN to private companies, but expressed optimism that with the successful handover, Nigerians will experience a reasonable increase in power supply by the end of the first quarter of 2014.
On the controversy surrounding the fate of Boko Haram victims, the former Vice President and Bayelsa State governor explained that his administration will assist victims of Boko Haram vicious attacks and “ not compensation”, promising that a body will be set up to look into the plight of the victims appropriately.
The president who stressed that but for the Church in Nigeria, the country would have probably gone into oblivion, vowed that his administration will by 2014 provide affordable mortgage with a view to making houses available for Nigerians.
In a thought provoking speech, National President of CAN, Pastor Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor commended Dr. Jonathan for his strides in the power, agriculture and rail transport sectors and appealed to the President to look into the issue of outstanding pension arrears and the setting up of Boko Haram victims’ committee to address the plight of those affected by the activities of the dreaded sect.
Pastor Oritsejafor while stating that the rate of crime and violence in the country is worrisome reiterated his support for the proposed National Conference, stating that “it is a right step in the right direction to make Nigeria better.”

The CAN President who expressed optimism that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU will soon call off the prolonged strike following President Jonathan’s personal intervention, stated that the month of November is very special to him because he “ started ministry 2nd November, met his wife, Helen Oritsejafor November 4, born 10th of the same month, started Word of Life Bible Church November 15 and dedicated the Church 22nd of November,” just as he quipped that President Jonathan will be celebrating his birthday 10 days after his.
Chairman of President Jonathan’s faction of Governor’s forum, governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, Liyel Imoke of Cross Rivers State and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State accompanied the President to Word of Life Bible Church alongside representatives of governors of Bayelsa, Benue and Anambra States.
Fresh Angle can also report that while a retinue of traditional rulers from Delta Central and South Senatorial districts attended the birthday which also marks the beginning of this year’s edition of Word of Life Bible Church annual Jubilee Word Festival, Ijaw National leader and avid supporter of Jonathan’s 2015 re-election bid, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark was visibly absent at the ceremony.
