NGC host community in Delta gets new executive

A new Trust was today sworn-in to pilot the affairs of Ubeji, host community to Nigerian Gas Company, NGC Warri for the next three years, Fresh Angle International can report.

The new Chairman of Ubeji Community Trust, Engr. Clement Erewa who spoke on behalf of other members of the Trust shortly after their swearing-in, advised other members of his executive to be steadfast in their commitment towards the development of Ubeji Community.

While thanking members of the community for their support as well as peaceful conduct during the election that produced their leadership, Engr. Erewa announced the dissolution of all existing committees, sub committees and community representatives to companies doing business in Ubeji, appealing to all companies operating in the community to deal directly with his leadership.

He described members of his executive as captains of the community ship, while other members of the community are passengers, insisting that without the contribution and support of the people of Ubeji, the new Trust cannot achieve its set goals for the community.

Mode Akoma making a remark

The immediate past Chairman of Ubeji Community Trust, Mr. Mode Akoma in an earlier remark, stated that during his tenure as chairman of Ubeji Community Trust, they attracted employment opportunities to Ubeji indigenes and executed some development projects in the community.

According to Mr. Akoma, his leadership attracted more contracts and harmonious relationship between Ubeji, Nigerian Gas Company, Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, WRPC as well as other companies operating in the area.

The eldest man in Ubeji (Olare-Aja) Pa. Akoma Demeyin admonished members of the new Community Trust to always remember elders of the community and seek their counsel before taking vital decisions that will affect the community.

Pa. Akoma Demeyin also cautioned the new Trust against violence, stating that anybody who does not perform his or her duty diligently will be replaced with another person from the same family he or she represents.
