Deltans bemoan PVC collection process despite public holiday

Registered voters at PVC collection centers in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State today bemoaned the process of PVC collection despite the public holiday declared by the Delta State government, saying they were directed to go to Uvwie Council Secretariat in Effurun from their various Polling Units and later to the PVC Collection Centers in the Local Government Area, Fresh Angle International investigation reveals.

Speaking with Our Editorial Assistant, Special Project, a registered voter, Mr. Isaac Agiri said he went to the Polling Unit where he registered at Water Resources in Airport road at 12:00pm today to collect his PVC, on getting there, there was no INEC Official and no sign that there will be PVC collection at that center. He immediately went to the Uvwie Local Government Secretariat where he was directed to go to Ogbe Primary School, Effurun to collect his PVC after about an hour.   

According to him, some people who were on the queue before his arrival could not collect their PVC as some of them were told that they were not registered and others were told that their PVC was not available.

A registered voter who could not collect her PVC, Miss Ruth Tsekiri, while showing her Temporary Voter Card, TVC explained that she registered in Our Ladies High School, Effurun when it was still a government school and on getting there, she saw a notice directing her and other voters who registered at that Polling Unit to go and collect their PVC at the Uvwie Council Secretariat.

At the PVC collection center in Ugborikoko Community Secretariat, also in Uvwie Local Government Area, a woman who simply identified herself as Mrs. Ruth said it took her almost three hours to collect her PVC today after previous attempts in the past failed.
