"Our passion is to enhance quality education in the riverine communities and Obotebe happen to be one of the communities we visited last year."

Pori noted that the foundation visited four schools in three Local Government Areas within Warri South, Warri South-West and Burutu.

According to Pori, "We identified some needs. What we are doing today,we are trying to meet those needs that we identified last year.

"What we've done so far, is not enough. Most of these schools they have 300-500 students but we are only able to meet the needs of a few."

Pori appealed to government at all levels and the international organizations to help the foundation meet the needs of the pupils and schools in their catchment areas.

"We cannot do it alone. We need the help of the Government, the help of the International bodies to be able to bear the burden we've carried on ourselves. It isn't easy. There are a lot of children in the creeks. These are just four schools in three local government areas. What happened to the other schools? We still have Warri North and some other local government areas with riverine communities."

Pori decried the sorry State of Ogini Primary School, Obotebe Community after her visit.

Hear Pori speak, "The first time I came here, I noticed there were no chairs in the classrooms. Today, it is still the same. There are no chairs in the classrooms. I wonder how the children actually learn without chairs, where to sit to write.

"We see these things online. My coming here last year, is my first time of seeing it first hand. Even till now, I didn't see any change after a whole year."

While noting that there are not enough teachers in the school, Pori explained that it is not because the Delta State Government does not post teachers to the school.

She said, "Majority of the teachers don't report because it's a riverine community.

"They consider their safety. They consider transportation and all of that. Nobody is saying anything about it and nobody is doing anything about it."

Pori passionately called on the United Nations and other donor agencies and organizations to help the foundation by way donation for school materials(teaching and learning) to make learning easier and exciting for children in the creeks.

She opined that,"If a child is well dressed coming to school, the child will have the confidence to learn. If the necessary books are provided for the child, the child will come to school with confidence and that child learns better. Our request is for writing, learning and teaching materials."

A primary six pupil of Iginuwa Primary School,Ode-Itsekiri, Treasure Agbogo who spoke on behalf of the students thanked the foundation for the kind gesture done them just as she prayed for God's protection, guidance and provision for them.

A teacher of Iginuwa Primary School, Mrs. Weyinmi Areyenka also appreciated the foundation for always coming to the aid of the school and the pupils. She prayed that God will bless and take the foundation higher.
