The leader of the Islamic State has accepted Nigeria's Boko Haram's pledge of allegiance, a radio message on Thursday says.
Abu Mohammad Adnani responded in an audio message saying: “our caliph, God save him, has accepted the pledge of loyalty of our brothers of Boko Haram so we congratulate Muslims and our jihadi brothers in West Africa.”
In the audio, Adnani called on more people to join ISIS and told his supporters that if they are unable to join the fight in Syria and Iraq, they should go to Africa and fight there. He also issued more threats directed at Christians and Jews:
“If you want to save your blood and money and live in safety from our swords...you have two choices: either convert or pay jezyah,” Andani said, referring to a tax for non-Muslims under Islamic law. “[Otherwise] you will soon bite your fingers with remorse.”
