An undisclosed man and his wife who lived at Community Road, Oghareki, Oghara in Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State were found dead by the eldest of their children in-company of their neighbours Thursday March 30.
The couple with three children were reported to be planning their marriage rites for April 15, 2017 when the gory incident occurred.
Eldest child of the victims, a lady of about 20 years old (name withheld) who took her two siblings to their grandmother’s place in the early hours of the same day before going to her place of work, returned home between 8 and 9pm and saw stains of blood at the gate of their home.
She immediately alerted their neighbours, who assisted her in forcing their door open, only for them to find the couple in the pool of their blood.
While her mother was allegedly cut with machete on her head, her father was reportedly shot on his chest.
It could not be ascertained as at press time the cause of their death, but their daughter who was utterly in grief and tears told Our Correspondent that her parents did not offend anyone, even as the neighbours stated that they did not observe anyone who came to visit that day.
