Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Political Matters and prominent Warri Urhobo PDP leader, Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru has described Dr. Okowa’s 31 years of marriage with his heartthrob, Dame Edith Okowa as “an evidence of divine union and genuine love”.
Mr. Opuoru who was apparently delighted with Governor Okowa’s marital union of over three decades, posited, “only a marriage relationship that is blessed by God can stand the test of time like that of the Governor. It must also be stated that it takes a man of impeccable sense of responsibility, vision, tolerance and great sense of human understanding to be able to maintain a flourishing marital life in this generation of external challenges against marriages”.
The PDP Chieftain also praised Governor Okowa’s wife, Dame Edith Okowa, saying her humility and “rare sense of motherhood, which is uncommon among most women of this generation, has contributed immensely to the success of the marriage as well as Dr. Okowa’s enviable political ascendancy, starting from the grassroots to a worthy statesman and now Governor of a complex State like Delta”.
