The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uche Secondus, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC of being a parastatal of the All Progressives Congress, APC, alleging that the electoral commission rigs election for APC candidates.
Our Bayelsa State Correspondent reports that Prince Uche Secondus made the allegation Wednesday February 14 during the 6th anniversary celebration of Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, which held at Ox-Bow Lake Pavilion, Yenagoa.
The PDP National Chairman warned INEC, security agencies and other government institutions to desist from rigging, vowing that PDP will make sure every single vote counts in the 2019 Presidential and Governorship elections.
Meanwhile, 16 Chieftains of All Progressives Congress, APC reportedly defected to the PDP with their teaming supporters.
The defectors described APC as a party of no hope, lacking in ideology and fairness, just as Uche Secondus assured that the defectors will immediately enjoy equal rights and privileges with old PDP members.
Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Henry Seriake Dickson advised youths not to be deceived and misled by selfish politicians, saying “politics is not all about promoting killings; politics is not all about promoting cultism, politics is not all buying fire arms for the misguided youths and funding drugs abuse, but politics is all about rendering services to our people, that is what I have been doing”.
According to him, the APC led federal government used all arsenal to rig and manipulate the Bayelsa guber polls of 2015 and wanted to destroy the soul as well as the spirit of PDP.
The Bayelsa State Chairman of PDP, Mr. Moses Cleopas described Governor Dickson as a transparent leader who has transformed the State into a new Dubai, claiming the party has the potential to win any elective position.
On his part, the Organizing Chairman of the 6th year Anniversary and Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Fynman William said the essence of the occasion was to showcase the support the restoration governor has from his people, adding that PDP has done well under the leadership of the present government.
In an interview, Bayelsa State Commissioner for Local Government Administration, Hon. (Mrs.) Agatha Goma, said restoration government has delivered the campaign promises to the electorates, adding that Bayelsans has started harvesting on prosperity and faith.
