Reyenieju's peace parley collapses as INYC alleges political undertone

The ongoing peace parley being convened by the member representing Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju may have hit the rock, following the withdrawal of the leadership of Itsekiri National Youth Congress, INYC over alleged political agenda of the lawmaker.

Fresh Angle International gathered that some of the attendees of the latest meeting which held Friday February 16 at Ojoye Eyewuoma Hall along Esisi Road in Warri, left the peace parley disappointed.

The parley which was tagged "peace and reconciliatory meeting", purportedly intended to among others to bring the two factions of Itsekiri youths together, was attended by prominent personalities such as Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Mr. Omamofe Joseph Pirah, Chief Omolubi Newuwumi, Chief Robinson Ariyo as well as Comrades Esimaje Awani and Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, Presidents of Itsekiri National Youth Congress and Itsekiri National Youth Council respectively.

President of Itsekiri National Youth Congress, INYC, Comrade Esimaje Awani in a statement made exclusively to Fresh Angle International, Saturday February 17, averred, "to our greatest surprise, statements that emanated from the meeting were not only conflicting with the theme, but were unfortunately political in tone and programmed to achieve certain agenda".

Awani declared,"on this basis, we (Itsekiri National Youth Congress) hereby dissociate ourselves from the so called peace meeting and pass a vote of no confidence on it. Such meeting should be convened by a neutral person".

Hon. Daniel Reyenieju could not be reached for comment as at the time of this report, even as we can report that similar parley was held for select-Itsekiri leaders couple of weeks ago.
