Delta South 2019: JFK Omatsone emerges 4th force
Rt. Hon. JFK Omatsone

Former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. JFK Omatsone has emerged the fourth force in the race over who will represent Delta South Senatorial district in 2019,Fresh Angle International has gathered from an impeccable source.

Rt. Hon. Omatsone who's largely perceived as a grassroots politician loved by the people on the street is in line to do battle with the incumbent member representing the district at the National Assembly, Senator James Manager, immediate past Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Hon. Michael Diden A.K.A. Ejele of Delta State House of Assembly.

While Omatsone may not have the financial muscle compared to Senator James Manager, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Hon. Michael Diden, his popularity in the three Warri Local Government Areas of Warri South, Warri North and Warri South -West is not in doubt. This is not forgetting his Ijaw and Isoko contacts as well as his Catholic Church background.

Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has strong political network in Isoko North and South Local Government Areas, Patani, Burutu, Bomadi, Warri North, Warri South and most notably Warri South -West Local Government Area, especially Gbaramatu and Ugborodo.

Hon. Michael Diden on his part, has strong youth backing in the three Warris and parts of Ijaw dominated areas. James Manager who is the incumbent Senator representing the district has his biological root in Isoko and Ijaw, but may not necessarily be popular in the grassroots despite representing the senatorial district for many years.

As at the time of this report, there was no aspirant from the Isoko ethnic Nationality that has indicated interest to contest the legislative position, even as it was learnt that the member representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Leo Ogor, who was rumoured to be interested in the race, is speculated to have jettisoned his ambition and likely to re-contest the House of Representatives seat.
