An emerging political pressure group, Democratic People’s Network, DPN, has expressed excitement over the declaration of former Warri South Council Transition Committee Chairman, Dr. Augustine Uroye to run for the Warri South Constituency 1 seat in Delta State House of Assembly in 2019.
The group described Dr. Uroye as a goal- driven and result oriented personality “who talks less and do more”.
Democratic People’s Network, DPN in a statement released by its Coordinator and Public Relations Officer, Felix Okerentie and Oghenekaro Emmanuel respectively, opined “as Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Dr. Uroye carried out several empowerment programmes through the SURE-P. He gave 400 petty traders N100,000 each, empowered 100 youths with Tricycles and was instrumental to the trucks and tipper Warri South Council now use for environmental sanitation. Dr. Uroye also renovated the Orugbo health centre”.
The statement quipped that apart from the human capital development programmes of Dr. Uroye as Warri South Council Boss, he has invested heavily in the educational sector, especially in the support of indigent and rural pupils.
According to DPN, if given the mandate to represent Warri South Constituency 1 in Delta State House of Assembly come 2019, Dr. Uroye will deploy his administrative and international experience to initiate as well as sponsor bills that will improve the well-being of people of Warri South Constituency 1.
