Youths in Delta State have been enjoined to participate in active politics in terms of seeking elective positions, both at State and Federal levels, Fresh Angle International can report.

Delta State Chapter Chairman and Ambassador of Youths in Politics, YIP, Comrade Emmanuel Oguori made the call Saturday March 31 at Ekpan near Warri during a youth sensitization and monthly meeting of the group to raise awareness.

Mr. Oguori charged youths to wake up and take what belongs to them in the state, just as he urged those without permanent voters' card, PVC to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voters' registration exercise in order to get the right to vote and be voted for in any election.

Comrade Oguori disclosed that any youth who come forward to contest any elective position in 2019 will be given adequate support irrespective of his or her political party.

According to him, Youths in Politics is a platform for youths to be heard as well as to ensure good governance at the State and National levels.

While revealing that plans are under way to set up YIP at the 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State with local government ambassadors, Oguori highlighted goals, vision and values of YIP to include strategically producing suitable leaders that are youths as well as enthrone fair and balanced government devoid of ethno-religious sentiments.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that other stakeholders who spoke at the meeting encouraged youths to have a re-think and do things differently like never before.
