The Managing Director of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Olorogun Williams Makinde says the commission will soon embark on massive production and supply of desks to public schools within its areas of coverage in order to alleviate challenges faced by pupils and students while learning.

Olorogun Makinde gave the assurance Wednesday September 20 at Ugbevwe in Jesse and Ijegbo Efurokpe, an Itsekiri community in Oghara, both in Ethiope West Local Government Area, while commissioning three class room blocks each at Jesse and Ijegbo Efurokpe respectively.

He assured that the abandoned inherited classroom block at Ijegbo Efurokpe will be completed by the present Board under his watch, adding that the state government is doing everything humanly possible to better the lives of Deltans through DESOPADEC, as interventionist agency.

The DESOPADEC Boss charged the host communities to protect the classroom blocks and shun act of vandalism of projects.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the Olare-Aja of Ijegbo Efurokpe, Pa. Michael Nikomirede who spoke through secretary of the community, Captain Godwin Orru, appealed for completion of the abandoned access roads to the community as well as water project and the abandoned health care centre.

Others who spoke included: Representative of Chief Inspector of Education, Ethiope West, Mrs. Udi Anighoro, Chairman Education Committee, Ugbevwe Community, Major Samuel Didioma (Rtd), Principal Ugbevwe Secondary School, Mr. Isaac Onakposegha, Headmistress of Ijegbo Efurokpe Community Primary School, Mrs. Okwe Mercy Ogheneruemu and Lady Victoria Edewor.
