Forty six vehicles were on Monday April 8 impounded in Delta State over failure of owners of commercial as well as company vehicles in the state to comply with the deadline handed down by Delta State Signage and Advertisement Agency, DESAA to meet up with 2019 obligation as it affects mobile sales/advert operational permits.

The enforcement originally scheduled to commence Monday March 25, kicked off Monday April 8 with Warri South and Oshimili South Local Government Areas as flag off, even as arrangements have been concluded to begin enforcement in the remaining 23 local government areas from Monday April 15.

Officials of HASCKEF GEE Nigeria, Johnson Diawan and Gehobless Nigeria Enterprises, Norway Joseph, two of the three agents approved by Delta State Signage and Advertisement Agency, DESAA and Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Delta Chapter for the collection of the mobile sales/advert operational permits, disclosed that while 24 vehicles were impounded at Oshimili South Local Government Area, 22 were seized in Warri South Local Government Area by approved enforcement agents from HASCKEF GEE Nigeria, Gehobless Nigeria and Lora Jones Nigeria.

The Delta State Government revenue agency through its certified agents, warned vehicle owners to desist from patronizing touts, so as to avoid multiple taxation, adding that owners of vehicles which are impounded will pay additional 25% of the original levy.

DESAA stressed that apart from religious organizations, other vehicle owners are to obtain their permits at its office in Asaba and the 25 Local Government Councils’ Secretariat spread across the state.

Investigations revealed that the authentic enforcement agents have DESAA ID Cards with insignia of the approved collection agents as well as complete kit reflecting Delta State symbolic colour.

The permits to be obtained by the vehicle owners are mobile advertisement, mobile stickers, emblem, loading offloading, sales/supply, liquor, mineral, water, refuse waste, sanitation, motor park and all other stickers under the purview of DESAA and ALGON.
