Accord Party has distanced itself from a report credited to an online media, Sahara Reporters, wherein it was alleged that opposition political parties in Kogi State have been bribed by Governor Yahaya Bello, in a bid to make them withdraw from the forth-coming Kogi State Governorship election and endorse him.
In a statement signed yesterday by Accord Party Chairman in Kogi State, Hon. Alhassan Adakeke, the party said the report with the caption, "Kogi Government Poll" Yahaya Bello accused of bribing opposition candidates with millions of naira, is not only malicious, but simply an imaginary and unfounded thinking of little brains targeted at gullible minds.
Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that Adakeke further stated that, it was insinuated in the report that, the National Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Chief Peter Ameh coordinated the distribution of the funds to candidates of the various parties.
The former Kogi State House of Assembly member while distancing the party from the report, noted that the party’s candidate, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed has nothing to do with the supposed money collected as alleged by the online media, stressing that, Accord Party Governorship Candidate has been cleared by INEC and remains committed to carry its clearance to the November 16, 2019 Governorship election without hindrance or encumbrance.
