A mother of five children and indigene of Auchi, Edo State, Mrs. Zenab Agbontine has revealed why she killed her husband, Mr. Agbontine Egberise at about 2.am Sunday November 10, 2013, Our Benin Correspondent reports.
According to the woman, Mrs. Zenab Agbontine, her husband, Mr. Agbontine Egberise who is Esan by tribe told her to leave his house, an order which she said she resisted and on that fateful night her husband threatened to kill her. She claimed that in her defence she carried an axe which she uses for farming to hit her husband on the head.
The woman’s account contradicted police investigation which reveals that the victim, Mr. Agbontine Egberise was murdered with the axe while he was asleep.
