The member representing Delta South Senatorial District in the Delta State Waste Management Board, DSWMB, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema, has urged people living in Warri and other parts of Delta State, to make themselves disciple of cleaner Delta, expressing dismay over the indiscriminate dumping of refuse by some residents in parts of the state.
Hon. Edema gave the charge Saturday February 29, during day-two of the special sanitation exercise carried out by DSWMB in Warri and environs.

He disclosed that the Delta State Waste Management Board, had engaged sweepers for cleaning of major roads as well as streets in Warri and environs, as part of efforts by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration to ensure a cleaner Delta.
Our Senior Correspondent reports that Hon. Edema, who was a former Special Project Director in the state, supervised the extensive clean-up exercise at Ogunu Flyover to Ogunu Road, Ajamimogha Road to Okere Market and Swamp Road, opposite Post Primary Education Board, all in Warri.

While warning against indiscriminate dumping of refuse, Hon. Edema stated that anyone caught, will be arrested and prosecuted by the Delta State Environmental Sanitation Taskforce.
He appealed to chairmen of communities and heads of schools, where illegal refuse dump sites are situated, to immediately set up machineries in motion to stop further dumping of refuse on the affected spots, after evacuation by DSWMB.
