The popular cultural centre in Yenegoa,capital city of Bayelsa State has been taken over by flood as a result of persistent rain, FreshAngle can authoritatively report.

OurCorrespondentwho was in Bayelsa reports that business activities have been grounded to ahalt in the area which is home to so many cultural activities in Yenegoa. The cultural centre recently hosted the African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA.

Fresh Angle can also report that major parts of the city like thepolice ‘A’ Division, Area Command headquarters, Police barracks and Swali areaare also affected by the ravaging flood. When contacted some officers and menof the command told Fresh Angle that the problem has been on for several years.

They appealed to the relevant authorities toopen up all blocked drains in the area so as to make the flood flow directly into the Yenegoa River.
