Police arrests generator thief in Bomadi

The Police in Bomadi have arrested a 22 -year old man, Mr. Enoch Embeleakpo suspected to be a generator thief, Our Bomadi Correspondent reports.
The Police said Mr. Enoch Embeleakpo who is currently in detention was arrested in connection to a missing generator belonging to one Mr. Emmanuel Isaac which was reported missing from his compound at Winners road, Bomadi.

According to the Investigating Police Officer, Inspector Godwin Edokpai the arrest was effected following a report by the complainant who told the Police that Mr. Embeleakpo became suspect in view of his connections to several missing items belonging to residents in the area.

It was gathered that the suspect escaped when the Police first went for his arrest after a fierce battle with them. The suspect according to the Police leaped out of his house violently on sighting them and brandished a cutlass threatening to attack anyone who gets closer. “In an attempt to grab him, the suspect bit the arm of the complainant and escaped,” the IPO explained.

However, luck ran out of him when a re-enforced team of the Police went to his house at the wee hours of the following morning and smoked him out from the ceiling where he hid himself on noticing that he was being surrounded by the Police.

When Fresh Angle spoke to the suspect, he admitted biting the complainant’s arm and carried a cutlass to threaten the Police in order to evade arrest. He however denied stealing a generator.
The Police maintained that the suspect will be charged to court for attempted murder as soon as it concluded its investigation.
