A socio-political pressure group, birthed for the advancement of visible and even grassroots development, Warri Rebirth Advocacy, WRA, has advanced reasons why the current Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Michael E. Tidi, PhD, should run for a second term as Chairman of Warri South Local Government in the forthcoming Delta State Local Government poll.
President of WRA, Comrade Tuoyo Ebigbeyi Awani, in a statement released on behalf of the group, Saturday July 11, outlined reasons why Dr. Tidi should continue in office to include; prompt payment of staff salaries amid limited funds and huge social responsibilities/commitments associated with an urban council like Warri South, the construction of almost 200 open shops at Ugbuwangue Market, Warri and the rehabilitation of the lockup shops handed over by DESOPADEC also at Ugbuwangue.

According to the group, visible achievements of the Tidi administration include but not limited to the execution of 21 water projects across the 19 DSIEC wards in Warri South, procurement of speed boats for cooperative societies to boost fish farming in the rural/riverine areas, provision of relief materials for fire and flood victims, repair of patrol vans for security agencies, well-structured daily environmental sanitation exercise in the council area, facilitation of, “the Ogiame Ikenwoli Hospital in Ubeji through PPP and the revitalization of Warri South for businesses to strive”.
Comrade Awani added: “The saying that behind every successful man, there is a virtuous woman, is truism. I want to use this medium to say congratulations and a big happy birthday to Mrs. Juliet Tidi, the pillar behind our ever efficient Local Government Chairman, Dr. Tidi, as she celebrates her 35th year anniversary on planet earth.
“My prayer for you (Mrs. Tidi) is to continually be supportive so as to further strengthen the efficiency of our proactive Chairman, even as we continue in 2021 and the blessing of God that maketh rich and added no sorrow, will forever be the portion of your household IJN. Once again HAPPY BIRTHDAY MA.”
