Chairman of Delta State Volley Ball Association, Mr. Gbesimi Eyewuoma has promised to build an Olympic size volley ball court in Asaba, the state capital as part of his effort at developing the game in Delta State.

Mr. Eyewuoma who disclosed that for the past two years he has been taking care of the state volley ball team, appealed to the state government to provide land to enable him construct the Olympic size Stadium.

The state volley ball association Chairman who spoke to Fresh Angle at Koko, headquarters of Warri North local government appealed to the state government to include the male volley ball players into their payroll in order to encourage them.

According to him, his main target as Chairman of the State Volley Ball Association is to go to the National Sports Festival and win Gold medal for Delta State.

He noted that but for the last National Sports Festival, the State volley ball team has been victorious in previous competitions.

Mr. Eyewuoma also showered encomiums on Karo Okotete, Coach Elliot Nonekune and other key stakeholders for their tremendous effort at developing volley ball in Delta State.

He admonished volley ball players to remain committed to the game, asserting that volley ball is a team sport, hence he lodged players of the state volley ball team for six weeks in Koko prior to the last National sports festival held in Lagos with a view to fostering oneness amongst the players and coaching crew.

Speaking to Fresh Angle in an exclusive chat in Koko shortly after an organized training by the State Chairman of volley ball association, a member of the state volley ball association, Temple Eyewuoma advised the team Coach, Elliot Nonekune to arrange friendly matches for the team in order to continually put the team in good shape.

Some other stakeholders who spoke to Our Correspondent in Koko headquarters of Warri North local government lauded the efforts of Mr. Gbesimi Eyewuoma towards the development of volley ball in Delta State, especially against the seeming neglect the game is suffering compared to football.
