Fresh Angle  has gathered that fresh violence has erupted in the troubled Ugborodo community in Warri South- West local government, Delta State between the Hon. David Tonwe leadership and that of Chief Thomas Ereyitomi.

Feelers from the community indicate that the violence occurred this morning (Friday May 2, 2014) the same day Itsekiris across the world are heading to their ancestral home of Ode- Itsekiri (Big Warri) in Warri South local government to celebrate the 27th coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II.

According to reports, the faction loyal to Chief Thomas Ereyitomi was mobilizing men to the EPZ site in a Hilux, with the intent of staking their authority on the project site ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan’s ground breaking ceremony of the EPZ project allegedly billed for May 10 when they were purportedly ambushed by boys allegedly loyal to the Hon. Tonwe leadership and the Hilux conveying loyalists of Chief Ereyitomi was burnt.

Details were still sketchy as at the time of this report, particularly regarding casualty figure, but speculations are rife that men of the Nigerian Navy who intervened to prevent the violence from escalating allegedly arrested two relations of Hon. David Tonwe.
