A socio-political pressure group, Nigeria Interest Group, NIG has described the agitations by Northern and Western politicians in the country against the developmental strides and re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan as "misleading and misguided".

The Group which is a coalition of HOSTCOMM (Oil and Gas) National Council of Women Society, Former Local Government Chairmen, NUPENG, Pastors and a host of other groups made the declaration at the South-South Executives, Stakeholders and VIPs’ meeting of the ten oil producing states held Thursday May 1 at NIG Zonal Office in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.

In his opening remarks, Director General of Nigeria Interest Group, Barr. Onosomowho Jim Elueni accused some aggrieved politicians from the Northern part of the country of using the recently passed Ant-Gay law to instigate the Western world against the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan come 2015.

Barr. Elueni who described Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as the "best President "Nigeria has ever had, said within President Goodluck Jonathan’s period in office, he has established 12 new federal universities which the North is a beneficiary of, dualized Okene-Abuja road, constructed Kaduna-Kano road as well as roads in Oshodi, Mile 2, Badagry in Lagos State and some parts of Abuja.

While calling on Nigerians to work assiduously for the re-election of President Jonathan, Barr. Elueni also described the accusation by some leaders in the North that President Jonathan is masterminding the killings in that region as "malicious".
